Yousef Saba is a burgeoning, Arabic-speaking, American-trained, award-winning journalist who covers mainly political and economic news. Now writing for Reuters in Cairo, he graduated with Bachelor's degrees in journalism and international politics from the Pennsylvania State University in May 2016.

 

As an Egyptian, he has been exposed to politics his entire life, and has developed a deep passion for the subject. He previously served as chief copy editor at Daily News Egypt and interned at Politico. He won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for his reporting on the refugee crisis from Lesbos, Greece.

The Journey

Yousef co-anchored this Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-winning special documentary about the refugee crisis in Greece. A team of student journalists from Penn State University's College of Communications traveled to Athens and Lesbos in March 2016 to see the migrant crisis firsthand and to bring viewers the stories of the refugees' journey.
